Today the balance of my History of Little Paxton book order was delivered and safely stored in our dining room. Then, this afternoon, I continued my paperwork until it was time to collect Debbie from Kimbolton School to buy some riding tack and take her horse riding, where she tried some large jumps to prepare for forthcoming event. A rush to attend the Democrat meeting this evening, which was our best attended ever, after which I treated all those present to a drink in the local pub.
I had a call early this morning to tell me that the balance of my History of Little Paxton book order was arriving by 10:30am and this sent us scurrying to empty the Dining Room to create space for the consignment. It was raining today, but this was a blessing for the lawns and grounds that had become very parched of late. There were two delivery vans and, with Peter helping the drivers bring the boxes to the door, and me moving them inside and stacking them, we soon had the job done. I now have about 1,850 more books to sell! The new ones had the colour cover in place and only needed the maps to be fixed within. This afternoon, I returned to my paperwork, drafting with Percy the thank you letters for the campaign. Later, I had to collect Debbie from Kimbolton, buy some riding tack and then take her to the horse-riding. She tried full-sized jumps in an outside arena configuration and had problems controlling the pony even when she could remember the correct route to follow!

I spent the morning and afternoon clearing paperwork and writing letters/paying bills, even though it was another fine and sunny day. Later, I supervised Daniel for another driving lesson whilst posting my letters and stopping off to see my new Southoe Post Office volunteer before attending a meeting which adopted a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme; both developments I have encouraged for the good of my constituents
This was another fine and sunny day which was a great distraction to my main task of trying to get more up-to-date with my paperwork. I worked all morning and afternoon clearing my papers and writing letters/paying bills etc., until I had quite a pile of letters to post and a much clearer desk to work on. Then, once Daniel was home, I took him for a driving lesson and posted the letters at the main sorting office and directly at other addresses in St Neots. This evening, I drove over to Southoe for the Annual Parish Meeting and stopped off to visit Mrs Cotton of Lees Lane, who I have persuaded to take over the village Post Office as a community service. At the meeting itself, the attendance was good, and the meeting adopted a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme to prevent crime and create a more safe and secure environment. Together with the Parish Meeting the other day, it is good to see such community spirit’s emerging and I have encouraged this. Southoe has already improved since I became its District Councillor and I am proud of this fact.

After an early start completing my chores on another warm and sunny day, taking Di to Cambridge, meeting up with her parents for coffee and taking her shopping and for a meal out. Then collecting Debbie from school and taking her horse-riding at her increasingly-quiet Offord riding venue before attending Little Paxton Village Hall Committee as their Vice Chairman and Trustee and then meeting with residents. The Labour Party adopting a policy of multi-lateral disarmament.
Today was another sunny and warm day with a slightly cool breeze. I started my activities by getting up early and opening the conservatory lights, feeding and watering the fish. Then I sorted out by book money and other cheques for paying in and decided to take Di to Cambridge for the morning. My Apple Mac had been beset by a computer virus and needed the attention of my computer support friend. I dropped the machine off for their attention and then had coffee with Di and her parents at the Eden Lilley coffee shop. Charles is so offish with people these days and has become a slave to the TV with occasional interruptions by bouts of gardening. I bought Di a new dress and later a meal out. Also bought some stationary and went to the library as well. Once home,

A trip out to look at Koi Carp on another warm and sunny day and then home to clear the house gutters and down pipes. The Labour Party National Executive agree seven new policies to ‘modernise’ the Party
After not getting to bed until 11pm after writing quite a few days journal, I was tired this morning but still woke up early on another bright day. After breakfast with the family, I phoned Des Merrill and talked over the situation. He still seems to have kept his ambition to beat the Tories. This afternoon, I took a trip out to look at Koi carp as I had put off buying any more until now. I went first Avenue Fisheries and bought some fish food but then felt that the stock was to diseased. I drove on to Needingworth Fish Farm where the carp were much healthier but they only had an Israeli stock which is not so good.
