I was attending significant planning and parish meetings concerning Little Paxton development after witnessing a serious collision at the top of Paxton Hill. This on another fine day the gardener has now managed to spread quite a lot of the compost around the beds.
I had commitments this afternoon and evening and so I tried to get on this morning and lay out at least some of the FOCUS copy. I had completed the centre section and then went on to the outside for the Eatons and had finished a draft of these by mid-afternoon. I popped a copy in to Derek and Ross and was then on my way to Percy when I witnessed a serious road accident at the top of Paxton Hill. A lady in a grey Nissan two cars ahead of me turned abruptly right onto the road to Graveley and another woman coming the other way in a blue Sierra braked as hard as she could but could not stop in time to miss her.

Another office day working on my Focus newsletters until I had a fascinating call from Derek who told me that six of the Town Council Conservatives had resigned over the planned Shortsands Old People's Home closure
Another day spent hard at work in my office, and I can say that I was getting fed up with being tied to my computer day in and day out as I would prefer to get some exercise and fresh air by working outside. I had completed the first priority for draft exclusion on the house and so the colder drafts are kept out on these increasingly-chilly days.

I was tired again on a dry, breezy and cool day when Della was troublesome and caused problems when she was both on the way and on the way back from school.
I was treating greenfly in the conservatory and hoping it would not injure my koi carp and then after an interview with a radio station on our alternative budget proposals, I had a mammoth task to clear my desk after recent work.
The small island of Tahiti has had a military coup to end the first six months of democracy that it has ever managed.
I was tired again after far too many late nights but I was up early and down to the breakfast table with the others. I then spent a little time in the conservatory looking after the plants and fish and got some systemic insecticide and gently squirted it onto my hydrangea which is covered in greenfly at the moment. I was careful to ventilate the conservatory thoroughly, but I just hoped that the fish will be all right. The compost heaps are getting well distributed around the beds and we were prepared for the leaves whenever they are ready to fall. I updated this last few days’ journal this morning and filed the month with the others.
