Our first sight of the damaged Cromer pier and the precarious cat-walk set up over the gap to let the lifeboatmen use their rescue craft after a vessel had drifted and damaged the pier

After walking Sam in the open fields, it started to rain heavily just as I got to back to Horning. With my girls, we managed a day in Norwich shopping as the car is serviced.

This evening, we drove over to Cromer and saw "The Addam's Family Values" there and had our first sight of the damaged Cromer pier

Awoken from a sound sleep by my alarm radio at 7.30am and soon washed, shaved and dressed and got out with the dog. A walk via the open fields to exercise him and then into the village to get a morning paper and some cereal for the girls. I could not get multiple boxes of full-sized cereals and so got them Kellogg's Variety; the miniature packets of each cellophane-wrapped together.

It started to rain heavily just as I got to Horning and the dog and I got a little wet. Breakfast with the girls and then we quickly set off for Norwich to drop the car off for servicing and repair. Mann Egerton gave us a lift to the city centre and, after a drink and snack at McDonalds, we started shopping in earnest. It was quite trying, helping Della do her Xmas shopping and then finding time to get my own but we got on quite well.

I packed them off to the library in the end and did some of my own things and then collected them for lunch at Olivers. It was getting too late to see a film in Norwich this afternoon, and so we got a taxi back to the garage and, once the car was home and the dog walked, we drove over to Cromer and saw "The Addam's Family Values" there. Our first sight of the damaged Cromer pier and the precarious cat-walk set up over the gap to let the lifeboatmen use their rescue craft after a vessel had drifted and damaged the pier. Some sweets and popcorn to keep the wolves at bay and then cereal once we got back home.

I got the girls to do the washing up and then, after they were in bed, I updated my journal, read a new book on the computer word-processing software and then had a bath before bed. Doris Vincent and her son Gordon were walking their dog when we got back, and we had a chance to chat a while. Better news from home as Daniel had managed to get my new computer going and three boxes of ordered accessories had also arrived.
