A mixed training session dog run in Acle with Jim and Ben and then journey home to Paxton. This evening, the children all played the computer game, "Day of the Tentacle".
The stories were still of Bosnia, Ulster and John Major's political problems and so 1994 has carried on where 1993 left off!
I had set my radio alarm clock last night and so when it was time to get up and ready to take Sam out for another training session, it gave me a call at 7.30am. I tried to creep out and had some breakfast on the way and then gave Sam a short run before setting off for "The Acle Straight", near Yarmouth. It only took me about half an hour to get there from Horning and so I stopped off and gave Sam a run round the fields by the road until it was time to rendezvous with Jim Bird and Ben.

Sam's Training Day in Harlow via Wymondham to collect Jim Bird and Ben, On a cold day with a chill breeze my my feet were frozen by the end of the afternoon after I had stumbled into deep water and had two wet sleeves and two boot-fuls of water.
Sam was quite good on his general obedience work and retrieved well on land but growled at other dogs at times but many other dogs whose behaviour was worse and the ones that bettered him were a bit older
I had arranged to share the journey down to Harlow with Jim Bird and his dog Ben and so got up in good time to try first wearing Sam out with a long walk with the aim of steadying him up. There was no sound from the rest of the family as I got up and dressed and so I gave him an even longer run than usual and not only took him around Crabbett's Marsh but also across the fields and then into Horning to get a morning newspaper.

A slow start after a late night and then taking Sam for a walk to the village for a newspaper and then around the fields.
Then taking the girls to Wroxham Library to take out ‘Baby-Sitters’ books and the afternoon watching Rugby League on TV.
The evening taking Sam and Francis to Wroxham Bridge Restaurant.
I was up very late last night playing with my computer game in frustration at not having most of my journal data files with me and so I was sound asleep when Diana awoke me after 8.30am. Ready and then out with the dog before breakfast, taking him to Horning village for a newspaper after a walk round the fields. It had been the coldest night yet this winter and the water had been up with the tide in the dyke and subsequently frozen so that there was ice on the road and frost elsewhere.
