Better sessions with Sam today before a Cambridge visit to see Di’s parents and renew my University Library reader's ticket.
Then struggling to make progress with my micro dispute but managing to get some election canvas card printing done
I was not to have a very productive day but at least Sam performed well in his two training walks and the weather held off so that we could enjoy them together. He is now taking to the water much more readily and seems to be more attentive. I had a little time upon my return this morning as I was taking Diana, the girls and a friend to Cambridge.

A day for catching up in the office day between walks with Sam, once the rain had eased off; trying to get him retrieving with a softer mouth before uncomfortable appointments with the family dentist in Kimbolton.
The wife of a government minister, Lady Caithness, commits suicide
With Daniel now working, Diana treated this morning like a normal day and so I got a call soon after 7.00am and was soon having a shower and getting dressed. Out with Sam around 8.00am and into my office by 9.00am for a working day on my own affairs. The river was still swollen and over its banks after the overnight rain but at least most of the melting snow had got away in time.

After another slow start to the day, I took Sam for a walk across the flooded water meadows and then hosted Derek Giles to try out the new Liberal Democrat Ears software To bed a little late as the wind got up and some more heavy rain fell.
John Major in more trouble over his "Back to Basics" initiative as it is seen as his political colleagues fail to live up to its ideals.
There was a slow start to the day as Diana was quite happy to lay in bed, eventually up and out with Sam for a walk across the flooded water meadows. I tried him on some retrieves across a swollen and overflowing ditch and he performed all right after following a biscuit across first! A good exhausting run (or it would have been if he ever tired!) and then home to the others. Derek Giles had telephoned about getting the Ears data ready for the forthcoming election and he offered to come round when I called him back.

A rather non-productive day after a poor night’s sleep but a walk with Sam in the snow as the Christmas Lights come down. Norwich beat Wycombe Wanderers 2-0 away to go through to the next round of the cup
One of those days where, try as I may, I could not achieve very much. I had a poor night after not being able to get to sleep for ages and unsettling Diana as well so that she had to go and sleep in another room. Then I got up slowly but still was out with Sam before breakfast. The snow was still laying around but thawing slightly as the day wore on.
