Relaxing family day in Horning enjoying swimming at the Horning Leisure Centre, until joined by Daniel and Angela to go and look at the progress at Ropes Hill Dyke. Some interesting coins found in the Heronshaw loft
Slept very well and then awoke to find Diana still in bed beside me for a change. I exploited this opportunity despite Della being in bed across in the same room but she did not wake up. Then a very slow start with me sitting in bed and reading my books as the girls got ready and watched television. A nice breakfast in the hotel and then a leisurely drive across to the Horning Leisure Centre where the girls went swimming and I first walked around looking at the boats on brokerage and then went in and sat and read again.

Off to Norfolk via Norwich on a very cold day for some shopping and supplies and then seeing how much progress had been made at Heronshaw before booking into The Harnser Suite of The Swan Inn as Diana arrived later time with the girls.
Despite being tired from this last few days late nights and energetic sessions. I managed to get up and on my way to Norfolk quite early, missing the morning rush as far as the Saturday shoppers was concerned. I dropped into Norwich first to get some groceries at Sainsbury's and then walk to Jarrolds to get some books on building technology that I will need to finish the planning of my building work. On to Wroxham where I went into Jeckells and saw about the new carpets for the boat and helmsman's seat. 'Adrian' had telephoned me on my car phone at long last and they had produced a price of £400 for the carpets and still had the matching seats that I could also buy.

Still in Paxton working on Heronshaw Plans as Di decided to come to Horning for the weekend and had booked rooms for us and the girls in The Swan Hotel at a cost of £65 per night for the four of us including breakfast.
I was all day finishing off my plans, producing copies and then amalgamating the whole onto a single large sheet of paper. I produced copies for the structural surveyor and planners and also faxed a copy to George Mixer & Co, the potential builders of the boat-shed. All this took until quite late and then I had to clear up my office was getting such that a bomb had hit it. I find that when the time comes that I cannot find anything then that is generally the time to clear up!

Staying in Paxton to work on my Heronshaw plans to prepare for my full plans submission for building regulations, as Steve arrives back after being at Horning in my absence. I ignored a clamour from my political colleagues to organise our general election campaigning locally. I do not believe that it would be decisive and did not want to get distracted from my project now that I am getting it on the road.
I worked throughout today fully intending to get back to Heronshaw where Steven was working on my behalf, but I got bogged down on producing the detailed plans on my computer and then I was still at it in the evening when Steven called from Horning. He opted to come home and then came to my house late to drop off my keys and collect the latest editions of my plans to take away and study. The whole exercise was very time consuming but rewarding as I then had the basis for making my proper full plans submission for building regulations. I ignored a clamour from my political colleagues to organise our general election campaigning locally. I do not believe that it would be decisive and did not want to get distracted from my project now that I am getting it on the road.
