More than 40 years, told day by day
After two attractive blondes had come down for breakfast asking for Daniel, I helped Diana get her car fixed and then got back to welcome Norma and Charles who joined us to watch Test Cricket and for lunch.
We then had a visit from an otter hunt after which I slipped out to see Wiggly before I returned to take Diana out to see the early evening performance of "True Lies" in Bedford and to drop in to give Ross McKay and Sheila Coates a present on the occasion of their engagement party.
Jim arrived at around 9.30pm and we took the dogs for a run and then tried to get them settled for the night ready for the next day’s outing
I had a remarkable experience this morning as first one attractive young blonde, and then another, appeared in the kitchen asking for Daniel.

Sam the centre of attention at Bob Steel’s training session after I had calmed him down with a long walk. Meeting up with Wiggly later and walking along the River Cam with Sam.
It being one day but one before the most important test of Sam's life, this was going to be an important day for him but he was not expecting the attention he was going to get.

Dropping in to see Wiggly and then on to Nigel for snooker and a catchup who was in a right muddle over relationships
Diana put her car in for service today and, after taking Sam for a run in the normal way, I brought her back. Apart from this, I had a long morning inside, paying a host of bills and reconciling my cash accounts.

Diana had got up very early and had taken Debbie over to the castle for the departure of her school trip to Saumur, France, as I set off for a Norfolk Dog Training session and met Wiggly for a rendezvous on the way.
Later, training the dogs with Jim in some large fields of sugar beet; dripping wet with the early evening's rain. I ran Sam first and, after a while to settle down, he ran well; better than ever before.
There was patchy rain around this morning with showery intervals, but this was not going to stop my day's activity!

I awoke with a cold which was uncomfortable before a long walk with Sam, getting him to quarter a large field of stubble satisfactorily.
Then a family visit to Cambridge to see Di's parents in the Eadon Lilley's Coffee Shop. The rain increased this evening until it ended up as a full-blown thunderstorm.
The second two-day rail strike has been called and the "Jackal" terrorist has been seized in Sudan and brought back to France for prosecution.
The IRA are still bombing UK targets with the party conferences right up in the frame.
I again slept like a log last night, only waking with Diana in the middle of it when we found the volume of bed clothes too much for the limited ventilation, I still awoke with a cold which was uncomfortable, and this was to bother me the rest of the day.

Taking Sam a short walk for a short on St Neots Common before the early morning trip with Wiggly to the clinic at Addenbrookes where her condition was confirmed, and I was checked out fine but needed to be cautious.
Later on, I took Diana to the cinema in Peterborough where we saw the film "Sirens.
After leaving the cinema. I spotted an elderly lady hurrying along the verge of the dual carriageway (which they call parkways in Peterborough. She had become confused, and I took her home.
I had to wake very early this morning as I had planned to go with Wiggly for a joint appointment.
