Walking a poorly Sam twice at each end of a very short winter’s day and then office tidying tackling my large in-tray. Then some last-minute Christmas shopping and finally helping Mr Porter, my plumber, to tackle leaks and clear up afterwards
I was tired again this morning after another late night in my office. First breakfast and then taking Sam for his morning walk. The poor thing seemed to be constipated and then to have the runs before being sick with the grass he had been eating. I was wondering if it was time for him to take some more worming fluid before he bucked up and behaved more normally. I think that he has eaten too many pieces of bone from the large one I had pacified him with yesterday.

A largely successful day trip to Norfolk where I found the river up again and the road flooded.
Then to the "One Step Beyond" computer store to buy our new printer and monitor but less joy from the supplier of Daniel's motherboard.
The journey home was tough in the torrential rain and spray and was followed by the even worse task of unloading all my equipment and boxes and tending to Sam in the dark once I got there.
A pouring wet day for me to have to drive to Norfolk and back but I still managed to achieve a lot. It was a particularly dark morning and night which was partly the short day but also the overcast skies. A short walk with Sam after breakfast and then lightly loaded to Norfolk where my first chore was to stop by the Norwich vet and get Sam's card updated for his latest inoculations. Then to the building society to get some cash before my visit to the "One Step Beyond" computer store to buy our new printer and monitor. On to Horning where I found the river up again and the road flooded.

It was cold but bright for the shortest day and Winter Solstice to walk Sam and then drive over to Cambridge to meet Charles and Norma for coffee and lunch and do some shopping in-between.
Diana joined me to choose a good selection of embroidery items to make up a kit for Della to start the hobby.
The evening at The Showcase Cinema in Peterborough with Daniel as well as the girls watching the new Disney film, "Alladin", which we all enjoyed
The year's shortest day and so I had to spend much of it walking Sam and looking after the family. I had some work to do first thing as well and, amongst it, the task of chasing the suppliers of Daniel's motherboard to try to get a replacement. It was an exercise in vein. The girls were using the computers and enjoying the modern games. In mid-morning, the girls joined Diana and I in going to Cambridge and there we met Charles and Norma for coffee and lunch and each did some shopping in-between.

A pouring wet and cold day to walk Sam twice and get over to St Neots for a haircut. Also to Nigel’s to collect his colour printer on loan for a while and then to the Brownies’ Carol Service at St James Church. Late to my journal, my work and to bed
A wet and cold day that brought home the fact that we were on the eve of the year's shortest day. Most of my time in my office struggling with all sorts of arrangements before attending Della's Brownie church carol service with Diana and, in between, taking Sam for his two walks. It was time with Sam that brought home the shortness of the day; I was back home around 10.00am after walking him and then out again before 3.00pm for the same thing.
