After walking Sam and updating Chris next door on the fate of her cat, I let Diana go alone to Debbie's senior school carol service and stayed behind to finish getting things ready for my trip to Norfolk with the girls and then we had lunch together before setting off to Norfolk where we settled into Harnser for the night.
News today of a final settlement in the GATT talks and also of a joint British/Irish accord on the future of Ulster.
The morning quite cold and bright but good conditions to take Sam for a walk. I saved him the water but gave him a few retrieves and schooled him in obedience again. It was so pleasing to see him all keen and bouncy again after recovering from his tummy problems. A long chat to Bill, putting him right again on a number of things to do whilst I am away. He was asking whether he was needed next week, and I had to point out the large range of tasks still to be done.

We had joy attending Della's Kimbolton Prep Carol Service and then driving on to Brampton Garden Centre for pre-Christmas Lunch with Charles and Norma as we put up the Christmas Lights around
The Hayling View. The GATT round seems to be agreed at last with the U.S. and Europe agreeing to differ over the Audio-Visual trade.
The wind had veered to the north and I was able to get the gardener burning all of our garden rubbish this morning. Sam seems completely recovered from his ailments and was his normal bouncy self again. There was time to put up the wiring for The Hayling View Christmas lights before Diana's parents arrived for morning coffee prior to joining us for Della's School Carol Service.

It was raining overnight and then cool and showery. Apart from a weeping eye, Sam was much recovered. I had an offer accepted for the purchase of 52 Monarch Road at a very good price, the third property for the children’s trusts.
In the absence of advice, Daniel and I made some progress on the connection of my Apple Laserwriter printer to my Amstrad.
It had been raining overnight but it was sufficiently dry this morning for me to don my coat for the walk with Sam. He seemed almost completely recovered but still had a weepy left eye that I had to clean for him. A session with Bill Medlock upon my return who wanted to know in what order to do his outstanding chores and then I came inside to capture some more facsimiles and make some telephone calls.

A waste of time as Nigel had failed to arrange the paint balling. The weather changed for the worst again as the rain clouds got thicker and the rain heavier as the morning wore on.
It ended up a very wet day. Jim Bird called and we are now confirmed for our training trip to Brancaster, North Norfolk, where we will share a room and get the dogs to sleep together in my car.
The final stages of the new GATT round are going badly with the United States and Europe at loggerheads. The family decorated the Christmas Tree
Sam survived the night and had not messed his run this time. He accepted some biscuits on his morning run and then ate his food later in the evening so that I must conclude that he is on the mend. He spent much of the day in my car as I took off for Hail Weston and with Nigel and his son Ashley for an abortive morning "Paint-Balling". Nigel had been very late back from his formal shoot and socialising last night and had not called me as he had promised with details of our arrangements.
