More than 40 years, told day by day
After a good and quiet night at Ranworth, and a good circular walk with Sam, some nice bacon rolls for breakfast before I took both Della and Michelle out in The Jolly to go fishing.
Then the cruise to Stokesby where we managed to get a good mooring space convenient for the children to play on the village green and I bought a fine crab and some cockles for tea.
The long cruise down to Great Yarmouth Marina; cruising with the strong tidal flow to arrive there well before dusk.
It was a good and quiet night at Ranworth, moored next but one to The Albion. Diana was up first washing and dressing and then she made me a cup of tea and I went through the same routine.

Loading up the Paxton Princess and setting off on holiday, stopping at The New Inn for a grumpy lunch and then off to Ranworth Dyke and then managed to get us in stern-on at the staithe where the Wherry Trust's "Albion", the pleasure wherries "Norada" and the "Olive" from the tour company in Wroxham with their counterpoint sterns and the best of all, for me, the "Hathor".
Several walks with Sam whilst we were there including one with Diana and the girls up to Ranworth Church for some nice refreshment at the tea-room and a walk up the tower to view the surrounding countryside. We watched a Norwich team of Morris Dancers manage three dances despite the heavy rain showers.
The first day on the boat this trip but first there was the regular chores to do. Out with Sam for a walk along the dyke and then back to load my things that we would need for the trip.

On a varied day of chilly spells and hot sun, a problematical session with Sam before off to Great Yarmouth Pleasurebeach where the girls enjoyed the attractions and we saw the replica of Drake's Golden Hind moored at Town Hall Quay.
Back home and out to see the early evening performance of "Baby's Day Out" at the Odeon Cinema. The latest Royal Scandal as the Princess of Wales is accused of making harassing telephone calls to a married man.
An English athlete tests positive on a drugs test after the European Championships
The weather was a strange combination of cloudy chilly spells with diffused and hot sunny spells. Sam's morning run did not go well in the fairly still air.

I awaited the arrival of Diana and the girls in then settled everyone into Harnser in Horning and then took them along to Winterton for a trip to the sea and sand which was chilly, but Sam was in his element.
Then back to Harnser where Diana and the girls had a quiet evening whilst I drove over and went shooting with Jim in Wymondham and accounted for eight rabbits two of which I brought back for dog training.
I awaited the arrival of Diana and the girls. In the absence of Debbie on her school trip in 4France, Della had invited her school friend Michelle Brown along with us.

A very early start with Jum to arrive at Lockwood Beck Reservoir with our dogs at 9.00am. I
was very careful handling Sam who was one of only three graded as Good at the Grouse Pointing Test but Jim’s Ben was a disaster. Before going home, I stayed the evening and night with Wiggly
This was a memorable day but it started altogether too early after a very late night which was a pity. Our alarm clocks were set for 5.00am as Jim and I responded and had some breakfast.

After two attractive blondes had come down for breakfast asking for Daniel, I helped Diana get her car fixed and then got back to welcome Norma and Charles who joined us to watch Test Cricket and for lunch.
We then had a visit from an otter hunt after which I slipped out to see Wiggly before I returned to take Diana out to see the early evening performance of "True Lies" in Bedford and to drop in to give Ross McKay and Sheila Coates a present on the occasion of their engagement party.
Jim arrived at around 9.30pm and we took the dogs for a run and then tried to get them settled for the night ready for the next day’s outing
I had a remarkable experience this morning as first one attractive young blonde, and then another, appeared in the kitchen asking for Daniel.
