The plumbing was completed and then moved on to fixing and connecting the waste tank. The electrician terminated most of the wiring with switches and power points and is now ready to move on to wiring the consumer units for Off-Peak and 24hr power. We completed the cladding on three elevations, but I had to rush to get the rainwear fitted before the scaffolding was removed as the building is coming together.
Another full day of building work but again, despite forecasts of rain, most of our work dodged the showers and continued apace. Both plumbers came today and completed the task of plumbing the kitchen, bathroom and hot water tank and then moved on to fixing and connecting the waste tank. It was quite remarkable to see the new building all draining into the disposal tank but as yet we do not have any way of emptying it. The electrician also put in a guest appearance and will come again tomorrow. He terminated most of the wiring with switches and power points and is now ready to move on to wiring the consumer units for Off-Peak and 24hr power. The pity was that I was given the wrong unit and had to arrange for it to be exchanged this afternoon for him to proceed the next morning.

A full and fine building day allowing the team to get the front of the building clad and then to complete the second dormer as the plumbers got on with the task of connecting up the bath, basin, shower and hot-water tank under the stairs. Steve and I fitted the windows into the two frames that are now complete, and I will soon be getting the windows glazed.
Slow again to start work on a morning colder than of late but still made it by 8.00am. The weather was kind to us today and allowed the team to get the front of the building clad and then to complete the second dormer. Both of the plumbers arrived today and got on with the task of connecting up the bath, basin, shower and they also finished commissioning the non-vented hot-water tank under the stairs. I had to make another purchasing trip to Jewsons today - hopefully the last - and this should see us through to completion next week. This evening, Steve and I fitted the windows into the two frames that are now complete and I will soon have to think about getting the windows glazed.
