Some time walking and worming Sam and then coffee in Jarrold’s and lunch in the Pizza Hut and shopping in Norwich with Diana and the girls.
The floods from the swollen Mississippi and Missouri still worsen and man-made flood barriers collapse making thousands homeless in the Mid-West after homes were built in the flood plain.
Sam woke us a little later this morning and then had a very good day of obedience and cooperation. We had a trip to Norwich and I bought him some more worming treatment and retrieving dummies and he was very good with the dummy retrieves after some time away from the technique. He was also steady to falling dummies and could be stopped and sat whilst in full flow; coming to hand.

Visits with dog Sam and family to the Holkham Country Fair and then to Wells-next-the-Sea. Sam was exhausted by the end of the day, but the Discovery worked well.
Greg Norman pipped Nick Faldo to the golf British Open title and the floods in the United States got progressively worse with the Mississippi in full flood
The day was under threat from rain spreading from the west but, in the event, it stayed fine for our day out. I had cancelled our trip to Wroxham Barns and took the family instead to Holkham Country Fair in Holkham, near to Wells, which proved to be very enjoyable. First I had to feed and exercise Sam, after he woke us up quite early again. I tried quite hard to get the family out early and we left a little before 10.00am.

On a muggy but mainly dry day with odd showers, a long walk with Sam to settle him down and then finishing the painting of the trailer base as the girls helped with weeding.
After tea, we all went for a long walk to Horning Playing Field where we played with Della's shuttlecock set before I resumed work.
This was a day that I spent in Horning, but the family also went to Wroxham to the library and to do some shopping. Sam was rather poor again today, still suffering from his loose motions and whining to come out of his kennel from an early hour. I was therefore up at 6.30am and out with him by 7.00am. A long walk around the marshes where we met the Yellow Labrador and owners again. Sam played and tempted the young dog to plunge into the mud again so that it ended up black all over apart from its head and neck which came as a shock to its owners!

Working with Daniel on my old trailer at Harnser on a dull, humid and showery day beforr enjoying lunch at The New Inn and then getting Dad's old Escort MOT tested. Diana.
Then arrived with the girls as Daniel left for home and we took them to Cromer cinema to see "The Super Mario Brothers". The Land Rover Discovery was faltering during the journey with loss of power
Another very warm, dull and humid day with showers of rain breaking up the dullness and then some short spells of very hot sun. Sam was whining from 7.30am onwards, disturbing both Daniel and me, and I had to take him for another long run to start the day. Back for breakfast and Daniel was reluctant to get up but did so in the end. Then we both worked outside; I completed the tightening of the header beam nuts, closing the gap in the stair-well, whilst Daniel started on renovating the trailer.
