A family shopping trip to Norwich another warm, muggy but dull day. Coffee at Jarrold’s where we bought some walking guides and to the country wear shop for better walking shoes. Lunch at The Pizza Hut and some blanks for dog training and a long walk later.
The government won their confidence vote and Maastricht prevails and an election is avoided. Even so, the authority of John Major has been irretrievably damaged
It was another warm, muggy but dull day that proved quite tiring and trying. A longish walk for Sam first thing after a bit of a lay in and then the task of getting the whole family ready for a shopping trip to Norwich. Eventually able to leave with Sam in the back for good measure. Parked in the multistorey car park and then over to Jarrold’s for morning drinks and a foray around their bookshop where we got a large range of walking guides for our evening rambles.

Daniel joins us for lunch at The New Inn after the girls earned some pocket money weeding and helping me repair the trailer.
This evening, Daniel went skating and I took Sam and the rest of the family for a walk around Horsey Mere.
Parliament uproar as the government lost the second and final vote on accepting their policy on the Social Chapter by a majority of 8 which meant that the Prime Minister could not ratify the treaty.
The weather forecast was poor for today but, in the event, it stayed fine and was even sunny for much of the time. I stayed in with the girls this morning as Diana went shopping but we were all back together in good time to welcome Daniel back. Both Debbie and Della had worked with me; first weeding the gravel and then helping to screw the final planks on to the trailer and in the process improved their characters and earned some pocket money.

A visit to run-down Great Yarmouth with the children on a cool and dull day, thankfully dry. This afternoon with Diana for a drive to St Bennetts Abbey with Sam for some hunting and retrieving practice, as he flushed hares.
This evening fishing off my frontage. Bosnian Serb forces are surrounding Sarajevo but last-minute attempts are in train under Dr Owen's aegis for all three sides to negotiate and arrange a cease-fire meanwhile.
Another cool and dull day but at least the rain showers stayed away. Out early with Sam and then I made the decision to take the family to Great Yarmouth for the morning and most of the afternoon. We left Sam behind and I was to regret this as we found the seafront quiet and stretches of sand empty and accessible at each end where dogs could be exercised.

On a dull and showery day, I spent most of the day at Harnser, working on my trailer renovation, had lunch with Diana and the girls at The Wroxham Bridge Restaurant before they spent the afternoon at the Aqua Park whilst I worked.
This evening with Diana to the Theatre Royal where we saw Tom Stoppard’s production of "Arcadia"
We were always due to go out in the evening by prior arrangement and so I was content to spend most of the day at Harnser, working on my trailer renovation. I still took Diana and the girls to Wroxham for lunch at The Bridge Restaurant which we enjoyed. They spent the afternoon at the Aqua Park whilst I worked on and then we had tea together before settling the girls down for the evening and getting ready to go out.
