Choosing Sam's Lintran Travel box on a very cold and wet day, progressing planning consent for our Cambridge Street renovations and heating of Daniel’s interview plans
A difficult night caused, in my view, by Diana taking off too many of the bedclothes and then leaving the window open in a much cooler spell. She stomped off, accusing me of tossing and turning and putting my cold feet on her side of the bed where the warmth was! I had stayed up late puzzling over how to accommodate Sam on the Paxton Princess after Di had expressed concern about sharing the boat with him.

Cemetery visit on a fine and calmer but cloudy day commemorating my late Mum's birthday. Daniel would be coming home the next day and we would be glad to see him them.
I managed to have a very long lay in until woken by Diana after 9.00am. Sam had stayed quite content and remained so as I shaved, showered, dressed and had breakfast before going out to him. I gave him a long walk and then came back to give my new car an all-over polish with the green polish that is supposed to hide all blemishes and give unsurpassed depth of shine!

Taking Debbie and her school friends to Kimbolton, in the absence of the normal bus, and Della to a party in Hall Farm, Pertinall.
Some shopping with Diana and then everyone together to The Little Paxton School Fete on a wet and cool day in the rain before the girls played with friends and I took Sam for a much better walk.
I was slow to awake after a poor night. It was so warm and muggy again that it was really difficult to get comfortable let alone get off to sleep! A bit of a rush to eat breakfast and get out to the dog but he was still asleep and came out to have a big stretch when I took him his meal. To the bus stop with Debbie but, either she and her school-friends had missed it or it did not come, because we waited and waited with Sam to no avail. I came back and got the Discovery and took Debbie and Dr Newby's two children along to Kimbolton before resuming a shortened run with Sam.

We drove through tremendous rainstorms on the way back from Horning to Paxton after working on fixing a few problems on Paxton Princess
The end of the day before we made our trip home to Cambridgeshire and so we first spent our working time on the boat. Still Sam needed to be walked and fed but I was slow to get out to do this as both he and I had a lay in. In contrast to the bright sunny mornings of late, this morning was dull and this led both of us to wake late. Steve had already got the boat out from under the boat-shed and was hard at work buffing and polishing the hull as I got shaved, washed, dressed and then out with Sam.
