Getting advice on the viability of saving the old Heronshaw

A late departure from Norfolk after the viability of saving the old Heronshaw and then home in mid-afternoon to a family that had been missing me. Then to rush off to Kimbolton to see Debbie perform in her "Upper Operetta". It was all about a hospital and a musical comedy and we were proud to see Debbie as one of the titled cast.

Bush is starting to shake up NATO and Gorbachev is having to defend his reforms from attacks by his more conservative colleagues and Nelson Mandela is visiting the UK and plunges into a controversy by suggesting the government have talks with the IRA

I had decided to stay on at Heronshaw overnight and slept well enough on the boat and got some more chores done, this time to Heronshaw itself where I cleared the garage and made space for my car next week. The neighbour came round with his friend and had a look at Heronshaw and were of the view that the place could be saved and that the builder that had been working in Wroxham thought that he could have a go at it, but I would have to arrange to see him. I left about lunch time to come back to Paxton and stopped off on the Norwich ring road at MacDonalds on the way.

I was home in mid-afternoon and, for once, was welcomed by the family who are beginning to miss me on these trips (particularly when I forget to leave the shed key behind etc!). There was not much time for a cup of tea before we had to rush off to Kimbolton to see Debbie perform in her "Upper Operetta". It was all about a hospital and a musical comedy and we were proud to see Debbie as one of the titled cast for the first time rather than just being part of the company. It went on very late and we were quite tired on our return home. Bush is starting to shake up NATO and Gorbachev is having to defend his reforms from attacks by his more conservative colleagues. Nelson Mandela is visiting the UK and plunges into a controversy by suggesting the government have talks with the IRA. The weather is fine today but a more unsettled spell is on the way.
