After Steve's disaster detaching a Paxton Princess hydraulic pipe Steve and I consoled ourselves with an evening meal at the Bridge Restaurant in Wroxham

Working at Heronshaw on the property and the Paxton Princess, progressing well until Steve had a disaster trying to help as he inadvertently detached a hydraulic pipe at both ends and fluid was gushing out, debilitating the boat so that  sea trial this weekend was out of the question. I spent time documenting our new electronics until we consoled Steve and I with an evening meal at the Bridge Restaurant in Wroxham

I was first to awake this morning and got up and had a bath after shaving etc. Steven was slower to rise, and I had made breakfast by the time he was dressed. We just had toast and then set to work on the boat as we wanted to get it ship-shape for a sea trial and proving run. I carried on transferring notes to a small handbook so that I could run the increasingly-complicated equipment. Steve tackled the job of making a mounting bracket and pushing back the hydraulic pump out of the way of the table locker. We broke off in mid-morning and went into Wroxham to buy some cable and an incinerator so that we could start clearing some Heronshaw rubbish as we worked.

Saw Jack on the way back and he called in on us and chatted a while. He was most concerned about the lack of mooring posts for the boat and so Steve made some later. We worked on this morning, and I was getting on fine but Steve had a disaster. He was moving some pipe and detached the hydraulic pipe at both ends and fluid was gushing out. He felt that the pipe had not been installed properly in the first place. I called the auto-pilot technicians but there was nothing that could be done before Monday and so that put an end to any thoughts of our going for a sea trial. Steve was very upset and disappointed but there was nothing that we could do.

We worked on the rest of the day by doing a number of things and I finished noting the basic instructions of the system and then made a more permanent installation of the wiring ready for the hydraulics to be repaired. The system is very good, allowing way-points to be loaded down from the computer to the navigator and also allowing the computer to be used as a plotter. I am very pleased with it and we will have lots of fun on another occasion. We ended the day with a visit to the Bridge Restaurant in Wroxham which is always a very enjoyable experience and was particularly appreciated by Steve who enjoys his food.
