The Beccles Yacht Station
The Beccles Yacht Station

Breakfast and a walk with Sam after which I checked the weather on a showery day and updated the ship’s manuals.

Then the cruise from the Waveney Inn to Beccles with the crew all doing chores and me noting a hot water system fault.

To bed rather tired this evening from a combination of shopping walks, boat chores and dog exercising

Another good night as Sam behaved himself and was well settled during the night; only making a fuss when he could smell me preparing his meal. It rained again overnight and then this morning when I was due to take him for a walk, but we managed. Breakfast and then I relaxed for a while, tuning into weather forecasts and updating the ships operations manuals. I managed to get all of the systems working and ascertained that the weather will be unsuitable for cruising up to Yarmouth for a few days. We heard from Daniel yesterday and again this morning, but he has not yet received the money that I posted off to him yesterday.

We moved the boat over to the service station part of the marina and got a double pump-out and filled up with water. I had to complain at the cost of their water hose at £1 for ten minutes so that we put that money in twice and still could not complete our filling up process. Off up the Waveney with Debbie first to helm as Della cleaned the windows, Diana used the hoover and I updated this last day's journal. We cruised on to Beccles to find the harbourmasters out to lunch. Mooring up in the "private" boat section, we went to the local pub for lunch ourselves, noticing the harbourmasters there as well.

The weather was still cold and cloudy and then showers started later. Even so, the girls could play on the play equipment, and I took a walk up to Beccles town centre with Diana to do a bit of shopping. A walk for Sam after tea in the rain again. The bad news was a developing fault with the boat's hot water system as we seemed to have a faulty valve on top of the hot water tank. To bed rather tired this evening from a combination of shopping walks, boat chores and dog exercising and apprehensive about an early morning's work session to try and fix the boat.
