Christmas Sunday visits from a fox and the Jackson family between long and eventful dog walks to the gravel pits.

A lay in for all of us today as Diana did not wake me up until 8.30am and the dog was still tired after his active day of visitors. He was still content when breakfast was ready and so we sat down and ate before I got out with him. Daniel proved unwilling to join me and I walked Sam alone around the gravel pits on a quiet morning.

It had been so quiet earlier that we actually saw a beautiful fox trotting across our riverside garden but I was nowhere near a rifle and it was also protected by this being a Sunday. Most of the day, off and on, trying out my Facsimile and Wayplan computer programmes on the components of the new network. Diana had made a lunch of yesterday's turkey casseroled in a whine and cream sauce and this was not at all the type of sauce that my doctor would have approved of with my "High Risk" cholesterol level. Daniel did join me for this afternoon's walk but Sam was rather badly behaved. He was first excited at Daniel's presence and then at my God-daughter Emma who arrived from nowhere just as I was trying to sort Sam out.

Then a whole party of walkers arrived including a dog and that just drove Sam gonzo until I restored order. Once in the field, he obediently went through his repertoire, retrieving dummies galore and sitting, laying and staying to order. Home to find Charles and Chrisula Jackson arrived with their three daughters, and they stayed for tea and sometime afterwards but I got back to my computer after a while.
