I had a late and unsatisfactory night worrying about a structural development to Harnser

A full working day which I started feeling tired and reluctant to get up as I had a late and unsatisfactory night worrying about a structural development to Harnser.

Also experiencing disappointment with my new navigational system which was plainly faulty. Another warm and sunny day but still that cool breeze from the north.

Another full working day, again between meals and dog exercise sessions. Sam was getting a bit bored of the same walks each time and then having to stay in his run all day and so I gave him quite a few difficult retrieves. He did well with them but came unstuck when diving headlong into some soft mud when he ended up floundering around with head stuck down for some time! But first I was tired and reluctant to get up as I had a late and unsatisfactory night worrying about a structural development to Harnser.

The anchorage for the main cross-brace in the stair well had sprung by between 1/8th and 1/4 of an inch as the bolt nuts and washers had bedded in to the adjacent principal post. Though I spent the day working on the boat, I returned to this problem this evening and measured the gap in several places using playing cards as shims and a micrometer to measure their thickness. During the day I had fitted the new 2000I, made up a cable, plug and socket for the Yeoman plotter and also installed a fully screened cable under the headlining for connecting up the auto-pilot to the improved NMEA 183 protocol. Unfortunately the 2000i failed to power up and I was disappointed to have to take it all to pieces again!

Daniel's friend Gary spent his last day in Norfolk as Daniel finished commissioning his speedboat after two year's lay-up. Another warm and sunny day but still that cool breeze from the north.
