Chairing the joint meeting of the Parish Council and Village Hall committees about expansion of the facility

I joined Diana for our trip to Cambridge, catching up with work and calls during the journey, and then meeting up with her parents in Eaden Lilley for morning coffee. On to my colleagues for my new software and mouse, which worked well, and then back home to chair the joint meeting of the Parish Council and Village Hall committees about expansion of the facility. News from my mum that Freda had gone into hospital to have skin therapy on her leg. The good news from the Gulf the good news from the Gulf is that the Coalition forces have Saddam Hussein on the retreat

I slept well enough last night and then sat in bed this morning, listening to all of the good news from the Gulf. The Coalition forces have Saddam Hussein on the retreat and even offering to withdraw from Kuwait, but they have decided not to accept his terms now and will press on to try and humiliate him. Della was a bit of a pain again this morning. She will make no allowance for any disruption in the house and just makes her demands anyway. I joined Diana for the trip to Cambridge this morning to do some chores but first I saw the electrician and gave him my instructions for the completion of his job. I just wanted him to tidy up the wiring and protect it from the hot pipes and I will screw down the floorboards myself after effecting some repairs to stop them creaking. During the car journey to Cambridge, I made good use of the time by first making telephone calls and then updating my computer journal which was quite a novel experience.

Once in Cambridge, we parked in the Round Church car park and took my briefcase in to be mended. Then coffee in Eaden Lilley's with Di's parents, who I had not seen for some time, before we each went to our separate tasks. I tried to get a better cordless telephone but was not convinced by those available and, after collecting my briefcase duly fitted with a new catch, I went and ordered the hire of a dinner suit from Moss Bros and then made my way back to the car to wait for Diana. She arrived a little late and then we drove to Longstanton to see about my software and mouse, arriving a little late. The weather was dull and misty today but much milder which we found very comforting. Funny that such a day should be felt to be nice after the recent bitterly cold weather. The new mouse works very well with the computer and at last I can use the new portable effectively.

Home to find the electrician still at work; this time connecting up the telephone after it had been moved and also arranging the new hall area which, apart from the new carpet, is now finished. I resumed work in my office and processed the share sales that I had actioned yesterday. The, after tea, to the Village Hall to chair the joint committee for the expansion of this facility which went very well. Home quite early and then I sat in the lounge and typed up today's journal on my new computer package. We heard from Mum today who told us that Freda had gone into hospital to have skin therapy on her leg. She is in Norwich hospital and this development is in contradiction to the story that she had given me that her leg had been healing up.
