Cemetery visit on a fine and calmer but cloudy day commemorating my late Mum's birthday. Daniel would be coming home the next day and we would be glad to see him them.

I managed to have a very long lay in until woken by Diana after 9.00am. Sam had stayed quite content and remained so as I shaved, showered, dressed and had breakfast before going out to him. I gave him a long walk and then came back to give my new car an all-over polish with the green polish that is supposed to hide all blemishes and give unsurpassed depth of shine!

We shall see. Then, in late morning, I took Di and the girls up to the cemetery to pay our family's respects on Mum's birthday. The girls helped Diana cut and arrange the flowers and the result was a fine show. A nice lunch of roast chicken and then a rest afterwards and for most of the afternoon until it was time to take Sam for another walk after tea.

We spent some time discussing how to cater for Sam on the boat for this summer's holidays and decided that by far the best thing would be for us to get a travel box for him that could also be used in the car as well. I called the boat drawings up on the computer and concluded that a footprint of up to 3ft by 2ft 6in could be accommodated without difficulty.

Some time this evening preparing another sixty or so of my history books for sale and the whole family helped to fold maps and stick them in (all, that was, except Daniel who is still in Norwich). We telephoned our son today to let him know about an advertised job for Huntingdonshire District Council and found out that he will be coming home tomorrow and we will be glad to see him them. The weather was fine today and wind much less but the sun stayed behind clouds for most of the day.
