I hosted Derek Giles to try out the new Liberal Democrat Ears software

After another slow start to the day, I took Sam for a walk across the flooded water meadows and then hosted Derek Giles to try out the new Liberal Democrat Ears software To bed a little late as the wind got up and some more heavy rain fell.

John Major in more trouble over his "Back to Basics" initiative as it is seen as his political colleagues fail to live up to its ideals.

There was a slow start to the day as Diana was quite happy to lay in bed, eventually up and out with Sam for a walk across the flooded water meadows. I tried him on some retrieves across a swollen and overflowing ditch and he performed all right after following a biscuit across first! A good exhausting run (or it would have been if he ever tired!) and then home to the others. Derek Giles had telephoned about getting the Ears data ready for the forthcoming election and he offered to come round when I called him back.

We tried out new versions of the Liberal Democrat election software, Ears, and tried to prepare data for the coming campaign. A fine lunch of roast chicken and then to my office to get on with some work for a while. I did not think very much of the football on TV and so made some notes on the rival navigation software systems. Out with Sam for a lighter afternoon walk and then back for a sit-round tea in the lounge with the others. To my office in the evening where I started summarising my December journal but then Diana invited me to join her in the lounge to watch a film and we all enjoyed it.

I had received the Navtex transmissions with the computer fax programme this evening and, provided I just use the monochrome portable, the computer radio interference is manageable but my aerial tuner does not seem to achieve anything. John Major in more trouble over his "Back to Basics" initiative as it is seen as a moral crusade and his political colleagues fail to live up to its ideals.
