The government minister Lord Caithness whose wife committed suicide

A day for catching up in the office day between walks with Sam, once the rain had eased off; trying to get him retrieving with a softer mouth before uncomfortable appointments with the family dentist in Kimbolton.

The wife of a government minister, Lady Caithness, commits suicide

With Daniel now working, Diana treated this morning like a normal day and so I got a call soon after 7.00am and was soon having a shower and getting dressed. Out with Sam around 8.00am and into my office by 9.00am for a working day on my own affairs. The river was still swollen and over its banks after the overnight rain but at least most of the melting snow had got away in time.

More water-work with Sam, who needed a biscuit again to get him into the water, and over the ditch for the first time but went willingly thereafter. The trouble is that he has an increasing tendency to bite hard on the dummy when he is in the water, and I have to spend more time getting him to hold the dummy properly and lightly. No joy in contacting the solicitor today about the possible litigation but I did talk to the electoral registration officer about the arrangements for the Eaton Ford by-election.

A range of correspondence today but I had to share my office with Della who was doing her magazine project. Letters to many of my boating suppliers following up aspects seen at the boat show. Then the afternoon foreshortened by the other dog run before an appointment with the family dentist in Kimbolton. Always a trial, this time we were all instructed to use electric toothbrushes which he felt would clean our teeth better. Some dental hygiene and then a bill of £55 for the forty-five minute examinations which is nice work if you can get it!

This evening trying out the navigator programme and then time to update this last two days' journal before bed. The Tories in even more trouble as stories circulate about another of their M.P.'s and the wife of a government minister, Lady Caithness, commits suicide. The rain had eased off by this morning and at least it was dry for my walks today.
