Hamley's in Regents Street
Hamley's in Regents Street

Shopping in the very crowded Hamley’s during this late season tourist rush and then taking a trip on the London Sightseeing Bus before a McDonalds meal and off by taxi to the cinema in Bloomsbury for some cinema entertainment.

Then the girls to bed and Di and I to a fine meal of roast duck in the hotel's French Restaurant

We took a long lay in despite the thundering of the London traffic beneath our hotel window. The girls left us in peace and so I successfully made a fuss of Diana before we got up to have another nice breakfast. Off shopping to arrive at Hamley’s in mid-morning. We found both this shop and the hotel very crowded today - believing that the sharp depreciation of Sterling had led to this late season tourist rush. The girls enjoyed Hamley’s but it was too crowded for me and I took refuge in the restaurant whilst they continued to have a look round. To rest and recuperate, we went for a trip on the London Sightseeing Bus and, although its slow pace in the congested traffic was found to be 'boring' by the children, Diana and I enjoyed it.

A McDonalds meal for the girls and then we went off by taxi to a large commercial complex in Bloomsbury which had an 8-screen cinema embedded within it. This meant that Diana and I could see the film "1492 - paradise" about Christopher Columbus whilst the girls watched the latest Walt Disney film next door. Once back at the hotel, we put the girls to bed and then went down to have a nice cocktail and meal of roast duck in the hotel's French Restaurant before trying to get to sleep.
