Della had her friend Katie Morris over to stay all day

On yet another warm and muggy day, I withdrew money to buy 50-52 Cambridge Street and 18 Lawrence Road.

Della had her friend Katie Morris over to stay all day and for the night to follow and we hoped it would be possible as Della woke up with a temperature and aches and pains first thing. Some more challenging dog training walks with Sam.

Yet another fine, warm and muggy day. I sent Daniel off in my Land Rover to collect the car gun cabinet from Lintran in Lincoln which took him all morning but allowed me to stay in to make the final arrangements for the property purchases. I received the confirmatory calls and then went into St Neots to withdraw £45,000 from our Nationwide Anglia account and then £51,000 from The Woolwich for our purchase of 50-52 Cambridge Street and 18 Lawrence Road respectively.

I could just drop the latter cheque into Squire and Young in town but, after lunch with the family at the Croxton Happy Eater, I had to take Diana into Bedford to Gareth Woodfine and get her to sign all of the documents there. Della had her friend Katie Morris over to stay all day and for the night to follow and we were not sure that this was going to be possible as Della woke up with a temperature and aches and pains first thing. She was genuinely ill for, as Diana went off to her slimming club and left me alone with Della, I was to forget she was there for she stayed in bed all morning.

Still, she ate her lunch and lasted the day playing and swimming but she did fall asleep exhausted in mid-evening. Di came back with news of 5lbs lost whilst in Norfolk which bears out her Boots weighings. Two long runs for Sam today as I was late up this morning and was therefore in no hurry taking him after breakfast and then Diana did not want to go out this evening and so I walked him right round the nature reserve.

Funny to see how green the cormorant gravel pit has turned as the droppings from their huge roost must have enriched the water for an algae bloom. Sam was good to point a rabbit but was less steady with other dogs we met. He chased one and played with others as I struggled to stay in control of him. He swims willingly now on any water with a sloping entry.
