Visiting my latest property acquisition at 18 Lawrence Road to initially do some strimming

After an involved training session for Sam, I took gardener Bill to help cut back invasive vegetation at 18 Lawrence Road as I bought some new panels and post sockets and repaired the tumble-down fence and the transformation drew much comment from passers-by.

Daniel received four letters today; two with job leads and two more from female admirers - probably Dawn and 'Tricia.

I was a little slow to get going today after yesterday's journey and task of moving things around. I was the last down to breakfast with Daniel hogging the EDP and no mail of interest and so got out with Sam for a run across St Neots Common. My latest technique of using a swatch to keep him back is leading to him walking to heel much more reliably. He was also good on his evening walk later but was very excited to see the gardener and Daniel and nigh on ate them both with his interest in holding them with his mouth! Together with holding him back from flushing game without command, this will be his last lessons to learn.

A chat with Bill on my return when we decided to go over and look at my latest property acquisition at 18 Lawrence Road to initially do some strimming. I then took the trailer and some bow saws and we eventually cut down all of the overgrown conifers that were dominating the small front and back gardens and blocking out light from the place. We worked before and after lunch and I went and bought some new fencing panels and post sockets and repaired the tumble-down fence whilst Bill strimmed all of the overgrown lawns. I took over the new back door and all of the materials I had bought for the job and did some measuring to ensure that it could easily be fitted tomorrow when Nigel's builder goes over to do the work.

I also contacted most of the neighbours and got their approval for my arboreal amputation and to get a supply of electricity via power cable for the work that we will have to do before the new tenants arrive. It turned out to be a warm and sunny day and we got very hot, but the effect of our efforts was quite a transformation and drew much comment from passers-by. Back tired for Sam's second run and then hungrily to tea.

Daniel received four letters today; two with job leads and two more from female admirers - probably Dawn and 'Tricia if only he would tell. He is going to drop round and see the latter tomorrow lunchtime and is talking of going back to Norwich to do some roller-skating with Dawn sometime soon. I called round to see Nigel this evening, passing over a key for tomorrow and then borrowing his shotgun and some cartridges for more firepower in Scotland.
