RAF rescue helicopter that crashed in Wales yesterday, killing three air cadets

On a gloriously sunny day I took the girls ailing at Black Horse (Hoveton Little) Broad in Horning, before we had lunch at The Riverside Restaurant in Wroxham and before I took Diana on a walk at Potter Heigham.

News is still of rescue operations for people trapped in a four-storey hotel collapse in Thailand and of the RAF rescue helicopter that crashed in Wales yesterday, killing three air cadets

Another gloriously sunny day and, although Diana's thoughts were of Norwich and the skating rink, I insisted that we should stay by the river and enjoy the amenity of our riverside home. First we all worked away at Harnser; Diana inside on the housework and ironing, and me outside on the boat, removing the offending solenoid that stops my anchor winch from working. The girls did some more weeding in the garden.

Then I took the girls along to Black Horse (Hoveton Little) Broad in The Jolly with the sailing dinghy in tow. We set up the dinghy for Debbie to sail in and Della sat at the helm of the motor dinghy and they both enjoyed themselves. Back in time to take Diana to lunch in Wroxham at the Riverside Restaurant and then I looked around the chandlers whilst Diana did some shopping and the girls went to the library. Home for some more work before tea. It was the turn of the shower pump to get the treatment on the boat and then after tea I took Diana on a long 6-mile walk from Potter Heigham along the banks of the Thurne, Candle Dyke, Heigham Sound and Hickling Broad and back.

A fantastic walk most typical of the Broadland scenery. We were quite tired but Sam kept bounding on ahead and never tires. News is still of rescue operations for people trapped in a four-storey hotel collapse in Thailand. It was originally two storeys and then four more were added and finally the collapse took place as yet another floor was being built on. The wreckage was raised today of the RAF rescue helicopter that crashed in Wales yesterday, killing three air cadets and injuring the others on board. Rain forecast for later tomorrow when we intend to be driving home.
